Erie Polar Plunge

Eerie Zoo Boo

ZooBoo is a spooky, but not too spooky, fun-filled event here at the “Eerie” Zoo
featuring a variety of Halloween displays, costumed characters, a spooky train ride, our endangered species carousel, crafts, facepainting, games, and trick-or-treating for children 12 and under.

ZooBoo 2017 will run from Friday, October 13 through Monday, October 30th. The gates are open to the public from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night. Volunteers work from 5:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. and sometimes until 10:00 p.m. on busy weekends.

All volunteers must fill out this application and attend a 2-hour training session. There are training sessions tonight, Thursday, September 28 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Sunday, October 1, from 10:00 am-12:00pm.

Autism in our Community Day Needs Your Community!

WHEN:   Saturday, October 21, 2017
LOCATION:  Penn State Erie – The Behrend College |Burke Center

It is often difficult for families to navigate the system of services and therapies in our community. The timeliness of any and all information regarding Autism Spectrum Disorders is especially pertinent to many consumers, their families, educators, healthcare professionals, and/or legal professionals with the alarming rise in autism related diagnosis in the last two decades.  Autism in Our Community Event provides information about the goods and services available to families influenced by and managing autism in their lives.

We depend 100% on volunteers in run the conference in order to keep the admission at a nominal fee to cover lunch and free child care, making the event available to all families living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

3:00pm to complete Clean up, pack cars, return items to Autism Society NWPA office

Boo Run Needs Ghouls!

One of SafeNet’s biggest fundraisers is the BooRun, and they need you to help scare bibs off the runners! Dress up in your Halloween best, help decorate the course at Presque Isle, and scare runners!

The BooRun is Sunday, October 29. You would need to be available about 7:30 a.m., but it’ll be a spooktacularly good time!

Big Halloween party in SafeNet Big Back Yard needs volunteers to pass out candy/treats, plan and implement activities and dress up to interact, and/or be scary.  Plan to come volunteer and have lots fun at the same time!

Join the Barber Beast Crew



By signing up to volunteer, you will be providing essential assistance to participants on the 10-mile obstacle course challenge. You will also be supporting the mission of the Barber National Institute, and its work with children and adults with disabilities, by helping at this event.

Event Organizers are looking for help in the following areas: Parking, Registration, Start/Finish Line, Hydration/Nutrition Stations, Obstacle , Monitors
